World Diabetes Day
Lagos Marvel Lions Club had an awareness talk at Voice of the people radio station this morning.
The discussion centered on the growing impact of diabetes and the urgent need for early testing and proper care for everyone. We highlighted how many people are unaware of their condition and the serious complications that can follow when diabetes is left untreated
As part of our advocacy, we called on government and health authorities to ensure that all healthcare facilities public and private are equipped to test walk-in patients for diabetes quickly and affordably. Early detection saves lives, reduces complications, and lowers long-term healthcare costs.
We also appealed for greater subsidy on insulin, so that people living with diabetes can access it without financial hardship. Insulin is not a luxury;
It is a life saving medication that must be available and affordable for all who need it.
